Dear ANIMA Tribe,
The Creative Mile came alive with creativity and connection, our artists' unique works paired beautifully with the soulful sounds spun by the vinyl maestros on the decks. It was such a joy to be immersed in a community of collaborative artistic expression, filled with curiosity and exploration.
A big thank you to all who participated and came to support our neighbourhood. Our reflective musing from the Creative Mile was illustrated in our community live art; a Blooming Neighbourhood which illustrated that just like a beautiful colourful garden of flowers, it is our diversity and uniqueness as individuals that makes us beautiful together as a neighbourhood.

We kept that energy alive, and on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September we were thrilled to host a very special pop-up with the talented Liang Hou. Liang has been passionate about creating food since childhood and, alongside her master’s degree in cognitive neuroscience, she has spent years exploring the ways in which flavours and experiences intertwine.
During her gap year, while applying for PhD opportunities, she ran a small home bakery and hosted pop-up events, preparing street foods from her hometown in Henan Province, China. These dishes carried the taste of home and comfort, while her desserts embodied her kitchen philosophy that great truths are always simple just like classic recipes. We are delighted to give her a stage at ANIMA, where she will share these heartfelt dishes and elegant desserts with you.
Looking further ahead, on Tuesday 28th October 1900 onwards, we are proud to welcome Councillor Salman Shaheen for the launch of his debut novel, Freebourne. This evening, organised in collaboration with Hewson Books, will include a reading from Salman’s gripping new work, a conversation with with our talented author and an intimate book signing in our riverside space. The book has already been described as a standout debut thrilling, timely, and deeply thought-provoking. Limited tickets are available through Hewson Books, and copies of Freebourne can also be pre-ordered on amazon.

Every week brings something new here, and each event reminds us of why we created this space, to bring people together through food, art, music, and storytelling. Yours With Love,
The ANIMA Team
